Shoeday Tuesday: SHOE NIRVANA

It certainly smells like Teen Spirit when you watch the AW runway shows. Transport back in time when Seattle's rock scene was in full force and we couldn't get enough of plaid.

AW'14 embrace complete SHOE NIRVANA with the same inspired rocker combat-like boots we all indulged in in the 90's. I remember wearing my plaid pleated skirt, with my knee high socks and combat boots and my best friend rocking her short shorts with her favorite pair of Dock Martens.

Fast forward to 2014 and the color palette becomes muted in the shoe-world and our obsession with 90's nostalgia rages on. From dresses to jeans, these punk/rock kicks will have you zoned out to a simpler time. And although we miss Kurt Cobain's voice, it still echoes the sentiments of his legacy with the return of misfit dressing.

Throwback Thursday - Are You Jelly?

We will be throwing it way back today! Who remembers wearing jelly shoes as a little girl? I know I do! Who could forget the excitement of wearing their first pair of jellies! These sandals were popular back in the 1980's-1990's. For those of you who may not remember them, they were totally awesome, but don't worry about having missed out because their comeback will be even more rad than before. They came sparkly, classic black, platformed, glow in the dark, neon and even a heeled jelly. People wore them to the beach or paired them with some wicked overalls. They were my favorite sandals to wear and they are making a comeback this Spring/Summer 2014. Designers such as Madison Harding & Sophia Webster have done a great job recreating the jelly sandal with their new, chic and fun colored styles. You can style them with your favorite summer dress, a pair of high wasted shorts, a crop top with a flannel tied around the waste or even a pair of jeans. So girls, get ready to be inspired by your childhood memories of the jellies, yet in a whole new way!

Makeover Monday: Go Natural and Naked

What is the first thing you look at when you meet someone? For me, it’s always a person’s skin. Seeing women who have that perfect glow – the ultimate envy. This year, screw all the makeup and get confident with a naked face!

Let’s be real. On a daily basis, we do things that aren’t necessarily the best for us  your skin regimen should never be one of them.  So, here are some guilty-free natural products that are a MUST-HAVE in your daily routine.

Rose Water with Glycerin
This is a great way to keep your skin hydrated. It’s calming and helps to get rid of unwanted redness. Ideal for those of you who have sensitive skin.

Castor Oil
I know this seems like a throw back to the 50's for a nagging cough, but did you know it has a 2014 purpose? Penetrates deeper than any other oil and helps to improve dry skin. But, don’t just stop with your skin - put a small amount in your hair to help with split ends!

Rose Hip Oil
If Miranda Kerr trusts this oil, then we all should! This helps to reduce scars and fine lines.

Add these new tips to your skin regime and you won't be disappointed. Well that's all for me on this beautiful Makeover Monday! Stay tuned for more exciting beauty tips, tricks, and must haves every Monday!

xoxo Kelsi
